Bite the Bullet

A sixteen-year-old traumatized boy must venture into a zombie-infested world to find food for his sister and fight to stay alive. This short horror film combines a zombie apocalypse with a moving coming-of-age story about love and survival.

About the movie

Produced in 2015, Bite the Bullet (Dutch title: Doorbijten) is a gripping mix of horror and drama. The film premiered at the Imagine Film Festival, where it was nominated for the Méliès d’Argent. It went on to screen at prestigious international festivals including Cannes (Short Film Corner), Palm Springs International ShortFest and the Madrid International Film Festival, where it received multiple nominations for Best Director, Cinematography, and Producer.

The story follows Bram and his ten-year-old sister Sophie, who have taken shelter in a trailer following a mysterious outbreak. When their supplies run out, Bram is forced to leave their safe haven and face the bloodthirsty creatures roaming the world outside.
